Im an old man who has loved to paint for over 60 years. I remember always drawing pictures in school or church as a kid. Art has been my career.

Over the years I have tried many kinds of painting. For maybe 15 years I worked a sign painting brush. It was a fascinating trade back in the hand painting days.

For maybe the last 25 years I have been primarily setting up my easel outdoors locally and painting the nature or cityscape in front of me. This is usually called “plein air” painting.

For me it’s most fun when I can complete a painting in a one day session so I try to keep my brush strokes simple and impressionistic.
